Join us for a lawn concert on Wednesday, July 16th featuring ‘Mack Truck Mary’ at the Hicks Museum, 42 Tolland Green in Tolland, CT.
Mack Truck Mary (MTM) originally formed in 2000 when Scott (guitarist) saw an ad placed by Mike (drummer) and auditioned. Since that time, the band has been through many iterations with many members coming and going. While the lineup has changed over the years, the one constant has been the drive and passion to play great songs from many genres of music ranging from classic and modern rock, to blues, country, reimagined versions of pop songs, occasional dance and disco tunes and even some original music. The centerpiece of MTM is performing live!
The Museum gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Guests need to bring seating and are invited to bring a picnic supper.

New Book Story Time
Join us for a LAWN CONCERT on Wednesday, August 6th featuring ‘Amy Gallatin & Stillwaters’ at the Hicks-Stearns Museum, 42 Tolland Green in Tolland, CT.
There’s a new album! Homespun II, From the Heart is Amy Gallatin and Roger Williams’ second installment in the Homespun duet series, which began as a “shutdown project” during COVID, as Amy and Roger looked to continue their musical creativity in the absence of performing opportunities. The project became an occasion for the pair to record songs that, for one reason or another, had not made it onto their previous four albums together, and the relaxed recording schedule gave them the space to explore their musical roots over time.
While the original Homespun is pretty much a straight-up traditional country album, this new release evokes more understated elements in exploring aspects of love and affection in the “brother duet” style, with songwriters as diverse as the Louvin Bros, Jamie O’Hara and the Civil Wars. Most of these songs were actually recorded in the first Homespun session, but there are some recently-recorded selections, one a rollicking Roger Miller tune that has been getting great response at their live shows, and Who Are You Redbird, a meditative reflection on the appearance of certain birds as visitations from departed loved ones--a tradition enshrined in many belief systems. Roger’s son JD Williams adds solid mandolin to the project
The Museum gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert runs from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
