Set sail for adventure as pirates storm historic Sheffield Island Lighthouse on Saturday, July 18th, and Sunday, July 19th!
Visit beautiful Sheffield Island, home to its historic lighthouse, sandy beaches, and wildlife refuge, for a weekend filled with unforgettable summer fun for visitors of all ages.
Scallywags young and old are invited to step into the exciting world of pirates during this annual Pirates Weekend, hosted by the Norwalk Seaport Association and returning once again by popular demand.
Board the CJ Toth Quest Ferry and cruise across the harbor to Sheffield Island, where swashbuckling rogues, infamous she-pirates, dastardly villains, and wicked wenches await.
Once on the island, families can enjoy:
- Treasure hunts on the beach
- Pirate games and activities
- Sea chanteys and songs
- Live swordplay demonstrations
- Tall tales of danger and adventure
- Colorful pirate lore and legends from near and far
Who knows what secrets these seafaring scoundrels may reveal?
This is the perfect weekend to experience the freedom and excitement of pirate life while learning about pirate history and folklore. Every summer, a new crew of pirates makes landfall on Sheffield Island, taking a break from their adventures on the seven seas to share a boatload of fun with lucky visitors.
Ferry Schedule
All pirate activities are free with the purchase of a ferry ticket.
Ferries depart both Saturday and Sunday at:
- 10:00 AM
- 11:30 AM
- 1:00 PM
Departure is from the new dock at 90 Water Street, South Norwalk.
Parking is available at:
- Maritime Garage — 4 North Water Street & Haviland Street
- Closest paid lot — 5 Haviland Street
Please plan to arrive 30 minutes before departure, as boats sail promptly on schedule.
Important Ticket Information
- All passengers require a ticket, regardless of age
- Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be changed unless canceled by the Seaport Association due to weather
- In the event of weather-related cancellation, notification will be sent via email and/or text message
- Please provide both email and cell phone contact information when making reservations
The event operates under strict U.S. Coast Guard passenger limits, so every passenger must be counted.
What to Bring
Coolers, carry-on bags, and personal items must be stored beneath the seats in accordance with USCG regulations.
