Join us and the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra for an exciting night of beautiful music and fond memories, as we celebrate 20 years of Broadway musicals at the Palace Theater!

Together with a roster of Broadway performers, the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra, conducted by five-time Emmy Award-winning producer & director Andrew Carl Wilk, will perform favorite selections from shows that have graced our stage since our reopening in 2004.

In addition to favorite musical numbers from shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Ragtime, Evita, and Dreamgirls, the show will feature the beloved classics “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” (The Wizard of Oz), “Memory” (Cats), and “Tomorrow” (Annie). Featured performers include Debbie Gravitte, Jess LeProtto, Andrea McArdle, Soara-Joye Ross, Antoine L. Smith, Allison Strong, Gene Taylor, and Donna Vivino.

Commemorating our score in years (20) with excerpts from the musical scores enjoyed over the years in our historic venue, Broadway Scores will be an evening of entertainment, inspiration, and celebration.

Andrew Carl Wilk is the Conductor & Executive Producer of this evening’s performance. Most recently, Wilk served as executive producer of Live From Lincoln Center, where he created a variety of award-winning musical and theatrical productions for PBS. The evening's master of ceremonies will be Nick Wyman. It will be directed by Annette Jolles, and Gerard Chiusano will provide additional arrangements and orchestrations.

Presented in partnership with the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra. A portion of proceeds from this event will benefit the Palace Theater and WSO Education programs.

20th Anniversary Pre-Show Reception

Celebrate with us before the show at a special 20th Anniversary Reception at 5pm with food stations, dessert and a signature cocktail.

When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Based on the classic film comedy, this Tony-nominated Broadway musical is a reason to REJOICE! Can I get an “amen?!”

Born in the diverse and vibrant nation of the USA, where every opportunity felt endless on one hand and yet impossible to grasp on the other, Luis Reyes has had “the privilege of living what all immigrant parents dream of for their children, and that is paving the pathway to freedom.”

His journey was uniquely shaped by the fact both of his parents were immigrants. As he was growing up, his understanding of “feeling safe” evolved beyond its dictionary definition — in addition to the challenges and triumphs of his immigrant heritage, he also faced the personal obstacle of hearing loss at an early age. While he learned to deal with this condition, he did not let him define him. Instead, it became a catalyst for personal growth and inner strength.

He transcended the challenges of being a minority, growing up in poverty, and having a hearing disability to become the first in his family to attend college, graduating with a Physical Therapist Assistant degree. He learned to embrace his unique perspective on the world and found new ways to connect with others, drawing on empathy, resilience, and the power of self-preservation to overcome adversity. Luis joined the Peak Physical Therapy team on Chase Ave in Waterbury in 2023.
