Sunday, August 17th, 1 PM – 3 PM
Drop in Session, 20-30 minute activity
Suitable for all Levels and Ages (8-12 with an adult)
Free event, but please register for a 30 minute time slot.
You have probably heard the term “screenprinting” in reference to novelty t-shirts, but the same process can be used to make art on paper. In this summer sampler, we will demonstrate the basics of screenprinting and give you a chance to try it on your own.
Although fine art screenprinting often involves multiple layers and photographic images that are beyond the scope of a 30-minute activity, this simplified sampler will give you a sense of what it is like to work with screenprinting materials. You’ll work with a blank screen, paper stencils, and a squeegee to create abstract, colorful, one-of-a-kind prints.
All materials are included in our Summer Samplers so that you can walk away with your very own unique print in less than 30 minutes!

ACRYLIC PAINTING FOR EVERYONE - ALL LEVELS
7 TUESDAYS
July 8 - August 19
10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Students will discover the fundamentals needed to capture form, shading, composition, and study values with the three primary colors. Choices of subject matter range from figures, landscape, or still life. You will also be learning how to set up a full palette and how to create a strong compositional design. Students will learn to see and express color, values and the illusion of depth as they take their own photos as a point of inspiration to create their own interpretation rather than a copy. Classes will include lectures, demonstrations, as well as individual instruction. If you are new to the class, please bring a drawing or painting as a sample of your skill level to the first class.
Max. 8 students.
