Description

The largest construction project ever undertaken in New England was in the 1820's with the construction of a canal connecting Long Island Sound at New Haven to the Connecticut River in Northampton, MA. Carl Walter, who has been studying and walking the old canal route for over 30 years, will utilize his extensive computer database of canal images, documents and information to provide an illustrated history of the canal, focusing on its presence in Farmington and its Farmington related history.
