Kintsugi Art Workshop: The Beauty of Our Scars
Kintsugi Art Workshop: The Beauty of Our Scars
Transforming pain through creating art
With Cinthya Font - Healing Arts Facilitator
June 8th 1pm-3pm
Kintsugi is a Japanese philosophy that honors the beauty in imperfection, human fragility and the resilience found in repair. It teaches us that when something has been broken, it can be mended into something even more precious than before.
In this art therapy workshop, we will paint an anatomical heart made of plaster - each of us painting it with the colors that once lived in us. Then, with courage and intention, we will break the heart using a hammer, symbolizing the moments our own hearts were shattered. With tenderness and reverence, we will carefully piece it back together, gilding the cracks with gold to illuminate the pain rather than hide it.
Through this process, we give shape to our pain. witness our own healing, and begin to rewrite the story. The workshop includes a short guided meditation at the beginning, mentoring & support. This workshop promises a space full of reflection, transformation, and emotional release.
Herbal tea will be provided.
