The Cricut is July’s Maker Machine of the Month! Discover this fantastic machine, explore some sample projects, and create your iron-on decal to personalize a t-shirt in this beginner-friendly workshop. You’ll discover how to use Cricut Design Space software to select a design for cutting, how to work with iron-on vinyl, and how to apply your design to a shirt using the heat press. Please bring a t-shirt to customize.

The Litchfield Farmers Market is one of the few year-round markets in the Connecticut. The weekly Saturday market offers fresh seasonal produce, fruit, berries, herbs, sustainably sourced fish; artisanal cheeses, breads and baked goods, local honey, maple syrup and gifts - all raised, grown or crafted by 15+ local vendors. 

The market occasionally hosts live music and supports non-profits from throughout the Litchfield area.

INDOOR MARKET - November through mid-June (intermittent Saturdays through the winter months -- check the website for dates.) Open Saturdays 10am - 1pm at the Litchfield Community Center located at 421 Litchfield Road, Litchfield, CT.

OUTDOOR MARKET - mid- June through October located at Center School, Litchfield.

Join Mrs. Tricia for a classic library storytime--books, songs, bubbles, and more! Come for early literacy skills, social connections, and fun! We will meet outside each week, weather permitting. 

Summer's here and so is the lobster! Goni's Gourmet has all of your favorite lobster specialities calling your name!

An accessible introduction to what AI is, and what it’s not. Pam will walk participants through how generative AI tools like ChatGPT function, what their limitations are, and how they are trained. We’ll also address copyright, privacy, misinformation, and ethical concerns including algorithmic bias. This session is presentation-style with visuals and real-world examples, and is ideal for beginners.

Pam Doran serves as the Digital Accessibility Coordinator at SUNY Empire State University, where she is a doctoral student and is developing two AI-focused online courses. She is an experienced teacher of technology and has also worked in libraries. Pam lives in Columbia County, NY.

The Litchfield Historical Society’s weekly walking tours are the perfect way to discover Litchfield’s vibrant history and explore the town’s celebrated Historic District. The history and stories of old Litchfield are preserved in the architecture of the town. Each tour provides visitors with an overview of Litchfield’s history - from the stories behind famous landmarks to anecdotes about past residents to appreciation of prominent buildings. 

The walk will begin at the Litchfield Historical Society (7 South Street) and lasts approximately 1 hour. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water. Walking tours are free for members and $10 for non-members.

Saturday, July 26th, at 7 PM, 2nd Home welcomes Kettle Creek for their first time here. Kettle Creek Band - formed by the love of music. Kettle Creek has many types and tones, rhythms and melodies to offer listeners. Covering a wide pallet of music including traditional country, love, standards, classics of bluegrass, & Western Edge. Their music is known to widen the Americana music path - their undying love of this art keeps them in the pocket over an organic varied species of pure Kettle Creek music. We've heard great things about this trio, and are very much looking forward to having them here. Please come down and make them feel welcomed.
