Basic Italian I, a 13-session beginner class, will be held on Thursdays, May 8 to July 31, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The class will cover pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and culture. The required text is Learn Italian the Fast and Fun Way by Marcel Danesi, Barron's Publisher, any edition, available online at abebooks.com and other retailers. 

This workshop offers a comprehensive introduction to intaglio printmaking techniques including etching, drypoint and mezzotint. Designed to address all levels of experience, you will build a foundation in ink application, plate wiping and press operation as you create a series of prints.

If you are an intermediate or fluent French speaker, join us for an hour of stimulating and immersive French Conversation. 

Over the hour, participants will read articles from French magazines covering cultural topics and current events. Guided conversations will encourage lively exchanges, helping participants refine their French while deepening their appreciation for Francophone culture.

This program is an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow Francophiles, share perspectives, and experience the richness of the French language in a welcoming environment.

Come check out the Torrington Recreations 2025 Summer Concert Series at Coe Park! Thursday, July 24th, at 6:30, 2nd Home welcomes back the Myron Yousman and the Jam Fam. The Trio is Myron on vocals and guitar, Tim Larson on upright bass, and Bob Nolte on drums.
