”First Bloom” by artist Deana Tierney May, on view from January 10 through April 11, 2026.
A Connecticut native, Deana Tierney May finds inspiration in the landscapes of Washington and Litchfield County. A multidisciplinary artist and trained therapist, she creates paintings that blend expressive color with textured, intuitive brushwork, exploring emotion, identity, and the small, meaningful moments of everyday life. Working primarily in acrylic, she also experiments with mixed media, incorporating paper, found objects, recycled materials, and natural elements.
Her work has been shown at the Washington Art Association, Kent Memorial Library, and Morris Memorial Library, and is on display in several local businesses throughout the region. She lives in Roxbury, Connecticut, where she continues her practice while raising her three sons.
