The show will run throughout the month of July, with a special artist reception on Saturday, July 12, from 5 to 7 PM and an artist’s talk on Thursday July 24 at 5:30PM.
Freidenbergs’ exhibition is packed with both collages and box constructions that run riot with the intricate layering of found images and objects, textures, and colors – red is prominent in the artist’s visual language. In August 12 Moons Coffee House will feature Ed Thorney with his stories from life & a soulful harmonica that tells its own tale. 12 Moons is a community-organized, grass-roots, not-for-profit, all volunteer event begun in 2012. It brings people together to enjoy live, local music, poetry, and storytelling. 12 Moons gathers once a month on the first Saturday from 6:30 – 9:00. The format for the evening is open mic followed by a featured performer(s) at 8:00. The setting is intimate and casual with light refreshments or BYOB. Patrons are seated at candle-lit tables, conducive to bringing in dinner to enjoy while listening to live music. The coffee house depends entirely on donations at the door. Sign-up for open mic starts at 6:00pm.

On Tuesday, August 5th at 11 am the David M. Hunt Library will host a discussion of the short story "Everything in This Country Must" by Colum McCann with Dathalinn O’Dea. Copies of the story are available online or at the library. O’Dea, who lives in Falls Village, is a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Marist College with a specialty in modern Irish literature. Short Story Discussion "Everything in This Country Must"
Learn the basics of keeping up with your bike at this beginner bike maintenance workshop with Berkshire Bike and Board on August 5th at 2:00pm! Participants will learn how to keep their chain clean, change a flat, and go through a pre-ride checklist to keep their bikes safe and in working order.

We’re bringing the dig to the library! Experience paleontology for yourself at our mini fossil dig with REAL fossils to find and identify on August 7th at 3:30pm. Participants will “dig” through sand, rocks, and shells for micro- and small fossils namely from the Miocene era, and work to identify what animal they belonged to while learning more about early life on our planet. Let’s get digging!
