On Thursday, June 26th at 5:30 pm the David M. Hunt Library will host local author Karen Chase. “Two Tales: Jamali Kamali and ZundelState, Chase’s most recent book, was published in May 2025. Jamali Kamali is a book-length poem about two men who lived in 16th century India, a fictional account of their love, longing, separation, and death. ZundelState, a novella in verse, takes place a thousand years in the future in a repressive land where history is banned, and dreaming has vanished. Karen Chase is the author of four volumes of poetry, and four books of non-fiction. Chase and her husband, the painter Paul Graubard, live in the hills of Western Massachusetts. You can learn more about Karen and her work at www.karenchase.com. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

The singer songwriting duo Barbara and Mike Borok will be the featured act at 12 Moons in July. Their adventurously original songs have been played on over 60 radio stations and walk a thin line between the funny and the serious. New Middle Class seduces with catchy melodies, driving rhythms, distinctive vocals, harmonies, and delightfully unexpected lyric twists and turns. 12 Moons is a community-organized, grass-roots, not-for-profit, all volunteer event begun in 2012. It brings people together to enjoy live, local music, poetry, and storytelling. 12 Moons gathers once a month on the first Saturday from 6:30 – 9:00. The format for the evening is open mic followed by a featured performer(s) at 8:00. The setting is intimate and casual with light refreshments or BYOB. Patrons are seated at candle-lit tables, conducive to bringing in dinner to enjoy while listening to live music. The coffee house depends entirely on donations at the door. Sign-up for open mic starts at 6:00pm.
