Jump into summer at the David M. Hunt Library’s Summer Reading Kickoff Party on June 17th at 3:00pm! Join us for ice cream, dancing, and more as we celebrate the beginning of summer and the library’s summer programming. Families are invited to bring a blanket or chairs and hang out on the library lawn. Sign-ups for our summer reading program will be available from June through August. Come settle into summer time and summer reading!

On Tuesday, June 24th at 5:00 pm the David M. Hunt Library will host a book launch celebration and reading. Over a period of six months members of the Falls Village community and students at the Lee H. Kellogg school met monthly for a writing workshop focusing on telling Falls Village stories. These stories, including works of fiction, personal essays, and poetry, have been made into a book. Join workshop leader Mark Gozonsky and the Falls Village community writers for a celebration and reading of their work. Refreshments will be served and books will be available to purchase.

Join Judi Jones aka ENERGIZER for a musical and interactive hula-hooping program! Participants will learn how to use hula-hoops for dance, exercise, creative movement, and play. One custom hula-hoop will be given away at the end of the program.

Quality items may be donated and dropped off at the Center on Main at 103 Main Street in Falls Village on Thursday July 10 and Friday, July 11 from noon to 5PM. Items that cannot be accepted include clothing, books, and electronics, almost anything else in good condition is welcome. Contact the library at 860-824-7424 for more information and with questions.

The David M. Hunt Library will host the Berkshire Resilience Brass Band on the library lawn from 5:30-7:30pm on Thursday, July 17th. Free ice cream will be provided. Bring chairs or a blanket, snacks and drinks and enjoy live music on the library lawn. This concert is made possible with support from the Born to Groove fund.
