Community Remix -Today in Our Town

Imagine yourself in colonial Washington! Join museum curator Amy Campanaro and Miss Ashley as they take you back in time to the colonial era. After learning about the past, create an original community holiday inspired by Washington’s people and history. Honor a notable local figure or design a celebration around a meaningful milestone, such as Washington’s 1779 incorporation or the founding of Gunn Memorial Library. The Giant Room Remix Station will be available during library hours to create your own designs starting March 7 through to March 28. Your completed designs will be featured in a deck of collectible trading cards.

GIANT Remix blends storytelling, design, and STEM, helping libraries publish kids’ ideas in real, shareable ways. From character cards to illustrated books, every project amplifies the imagination of your local youth and strengthens connections across your community. Through the generous grant from Connecticut State Library, every participant will be given a trading card created from their portraits.
