Alternative Bagpipe Concerts

The Pipers' Gathering returns to Wisdom House August 14–17 for four days of workshops, sessions, and two nights of headline concerts featuring some of the finest pipers and traditional musicians in the world.

Friday and Saturday night concerts showcase the 2026 instructor roster:

• Ian Lawther on the Northumbrian Smallpipes
• Seán Gavin, uilleann pipes, Irish flute, and tin whistle; winner of the prestigious Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal
• Kathleen Dugan-Cavanagh, an uilleann piper and tin whistle player with deep roots in the Irish traditional scene
• Will MacMorran, multi-instrumentalist and former touring guitarist with The Chieftains
• Ailis Sutherland, a Highland and Scottish smallpipes player from Angus with an international festival footprint
• Chris Gray, a Maine-based uilleann piper and MFA painter whose work bridges music and visual art.

The concerts are open to the general public, and tickets can be purchased right before the concert; there are no pre-sales or online sales.

This is a rare chance to hear these unique instruments played at the highest level in an intimate, community-centered setting in the Litchfield Hills.
