Aqua Net, Lycra and Heavy Metal flow freely at one of the Sunset Strip's last legendary venues, a place where legendary rocker Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and groupies line up for their chance at an autograph. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock 'n' roll fairy tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri and the gang save the strip – and themselves – before it's too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more can hold the answer. Sound Bath
The 2025 season of free concerts in the Park, produced by the Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston, Inc., concludes on Monday, August 18th at 7 pm with a concert by The Rakes. This concert is rescheduled from June 23rd. The concerts have returned to the renovated Seth Thomas Park on South Main St. in Thomaston. The concert begins at 7 pm and concludes at 8:30 pm. The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston's concert series is indebted to the Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation for core funding.
The Rakes are a high-energy country rock band that delivers your favorite country and rock hits from today and yesterday. With killer vocals and electrifying instrumentals, it will be a party you don't want to miss! Momentum is building in Thomaston!
The town is holding a series of summer events to celebrate their 150th anniversary, they recently worked with NVCOG to update their Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD), they completed their 3rd annual CMSC Main Street Management Assessment, AND they implemented their Main Street Accelerator project resulting from their 2024 Cohort team work.
Our next Spotlight on Main will include networking time, presentations from local officials and a guided walking tour. The event kicks off with networking at Clocktown Brewery, located in a section of the former Seth Thomas Clock Factory. Thomaston Economic Development Commission will lead a presentation that provides insights on volunteer engagement, discuss what’s driving the positive change in downtown and some of the challenges they are up against.

Spotlight on Main: Thomaston
New England’s #1 Pink Floyd Experience, Floydian Trip aims to recreate some of the spectacular and moving live performances that Pink Floyd became known for in the 1970s and 1980s. This era is sometimes known as the “Roger Waters Years.” Floydian Trip recreates the sound in both the performance and tone of how Floyd would have been heard if you were seeing them live on stage during the Dark Side of the Moon Tour, Wish You Were Here Tour, In the Flesh (Pink Floyd) Tour, or The Wall Tour. Floydian Trip painstakingly recreates the classic Pink Floyd live experience. The band has poured over thousands of hours of official, unofficial, and bootleg audio and video of Pink Floyd between 1973 and 1981 in order to create the most authentic live Pink Floyd experience you can witness.
