The Structure of Light: Richard Kelly’s collaborations with Philip Johnson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe

On the occasion of the re-issue of the iconic floor lamp that Richard Kelly and Philip Johnson designed in 1953 for The Glass House by the New Canaan-based firm of BassamFellows, architectural historian Dietrich Neumann will explore Richard Kelly’s design philosophy and his collaborations with Philip Johnson and Mies van der Rohe at the Glass House, the Lake Shore Drive Apartments, and the Seagram Building.

Come play music, recite poetry, tell a story, or show off another talent!

Keep in mind this is an all ages event in a public venue. We trust you to make good choices about appropriate material.

This is an LGBTQIA+ inclusive and welcoming event series. No cover fee but minimum one drink purchased required (show Molten some love, y’all!)

Performance slots are assigned on a first come, first served basis IN PERSON. No times will be held or assigned before the event starts. Get there early to grab your spot!

Due to security enhancements, please arrive at least 45-60 minutes prior to event time. Please only bring essential items with you. Bags will not be permitted at entry to Total Mortgage Arena, except for bags used exclusively for medical equipment or diaper bags for the care of infants and toddlers. Guests will still be permitted to bring a clutch purse into Total Mortgage Arena, provided they are 8" x 5" x 1" or smaller. There is no check-in location for prohibited bags or items at the Arena.

Rayuela, a Spanish word for the children’s game of hopscotch, is the title of a new dance work created by flamenco sensation Marco Flores. The piece is inspired by Argentine writer Julio Cortázar’s stream-of-consciousness novel of the same name, a celebrated “antinovel” that can be read out of sequence and is noted for its multiple endings. The protagonist of the novel is always searching for elusive answers.

A winner of the National Flamenco Award in his home country of Spain, Flores celebrates the first 20 years of his career in this piece that is a metaphor for his life. One of the top male flamenco dancers of his generation, he is known as a fiery performer with impeccable technique, who incorporates elements of contemporary and tap dance to expand the possibilities of what flamenco can be. Flores is joined by two renowned musicians: singer Alfredo Tejada and guitarist José Tomás Jiménez. Francisco López is the director and dramaturge.

Wine N Chill is an exclusive wine and champagne party, designed for a mature and classy group of people. It is a food-inclusive event, wine and spirits are available for purchase. The event was curated thoughtfully so you could have an unforgettable time. The music is fantastic, the ambiance is soothing and people are super fun. Wine n Chill is a Sunday event that starts at 4 pm and ends around 10 pm. Our events are a destination, and we welcome you to join the wine n chill fraternity.

Calling all Spinners, Weavers, & Knitters! Learn how to transform raw wool into beautiful yarn in our single-day Yarn Spinning Workshop.

Instructor Mark Nowotarski, a member of the Nutmeg Spinners Guild, will guide students through this ancient, meditative art. This is the perfect opportunity for both novice and seasoned crafters to master the fundamentals of spinning and drafting.

Students will practice with a drop spindle, learn Andean plying, and try their hand on one of our spinning wheels.

Equipment and materials included. Workshops held monthly. Private lessons also offered.
