Description

Join us at the Ridgefield Library on Thursday, May 21st, at 6:30 pm for a unique A250 Community Conversation as we gather at tables, enjoy food and drink of the Revolutionary Era, and discuss and draft our own "modern" version of the Declaration of Independence. We’ll learn about tavern culture and its importance in hammering out the roadmap to democracy.

The Second Continental Congress discussed, debated and wordsmithed the Declaration of Independence not just in the formal setting of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, but equally in the rooms of the nearby City Tavern, a genteel spot for food and drink.

Our facilitator for Tabling the Declaration is Ramin Ganeshram, Executive Director of the Westport Historical Society, food journalist and author of The General’s Cook: A Novel.

PLEASE REGISTER.

A250 Community Conversations are presented in partnership with Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center
