Description

This class explores both form and surface in clay. Each week includes guided instruction on creating a specific ceramic form using a mix of wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. Projects may include plates, bowls, lidded jars, teapots, and more. In addition, students will learn a variety of surface treatment methods, such as carving, stamping, clay appliqué, colored slips, and oxide washes. Participants are welcome to follow the demonstrated projects or use the techniques as inspiration for their own ideas. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners!
