Description

Join the festivities of the season at the 19th Annual Candlelight Tours, a beloved holiday tradition at the Stanley-Whitman House. Step into the glow of candlelight and tour the museum’s 1720 historic house as it reflects the evolving traditions of Christmas in New England—from colonial restraint to later festive celebration.

Guided by costumed historic interpreters, visitors will enjoy mini-dramas performed in each room, telling the story of Christmas in Connecticut across centuries—from the simplicity of early Puritan observance to the merriment of the Victorian era. Experience the sights, sounds, and warmth of holidays past within this National Historic Landmark.

Tours begin at 12:00 PM and depart every half hour, with the last tour at 3:30 PM. Afterward, browse the Museum Shop for unique seasonal gifts and local treasures.
