Parent Leadership Training Institute 2026

Applications for the Parent Leadership Training Institute are now being accepted.

The Bridge Family Center is now accepting applications for its acclaimed Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI). This FREE, in-person, 20 session initiative provides training in leadership, civic, and advocacy skills. It is open to parents, caregivers, grandparents, or any adult who would like to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in our community and beyond. Residents of West Hartford, Farmington, Avon, Bloomfield, New Britain, Newington, Canton, Simsbury and surrounding towns are encouraged to apply. 

Meetings will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with two additional Saturday sessions as well. The 2026 class will begin on January 17th and run through June 3rd. The program meets at Charter Oak International Academy at 425 Oakwood Ave. FREE childcare for school-age children (4+) and FREE dinner are provided for all participants and their children. Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the CT State Department of Education. There are limited available spots in this class, so apply early for the best chance to be selected.
