Description

Celebrate the sweet arrival of spring at Stanley-Whitman House’s annual Maple Day.

On Saturday, March 7, from 12:00–4:00 PM, historic interpreter Dennis Picard will tap a maple tree and boil sap in kettles over a wood fire, demonstrating traditional New England sugaring techniques and sharing the history and stories behind this seasonal tradition.

Inside the museum, enjoy staff-led colonial house tours, family activities in the Spear Classroom and Whitman Tavern, and the Roots & Reflections exhibition as part of our Artist Intervention series. The museum store will be open with books, artisan goods, and locally sourced, pre-sealed maple syrup available for purchase.

Outdoor demonstrations are free. House tour admission applies. Donations welcome.
