Beyond the Breed: Exploring Cat DNA
Have you ever looked at your cat and wondered what breeds make up his or her DNA? What can you learn from testing your cat’s DNA? Find out at this interactive program. This workshop will provide cat owners and fanatics alike with a basic understanding of feline genetics. Owners will gain the skills needed to begin identifying cat breeds based on their physical appearance, a background in feline evolution, and a basic understanding of cat genetics.
CHS representatives are not able to bring live pets on visits, instead life-sized plush pets attend each event for hands-on learning!
The Connecticut Humane Society is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, serving thousands of pets every year. As an independent, non-profit organization, CHS does not receive any ongoing funding from the government and is not associated with any national animal welfare groups. The pets solely rely on the generosity and support of donors and volunteers.
This is a hybrid event; you can choose to attend in person or on Zoom.
