Description

Join us as we welcome Dirty Blue Shirts back to Harwinton for this look back at our revolutionary women. How did their everyday choices about fabrics and fashion contribute to and reflect the course of the Revolution? From the mythology of homespun to legends of midnight rides in red cloaks & calashes, the Dirty Blue Shirts will share stories of women who waged war on multiple fronts, as well as a look at what they wore as their world turned upside down.

This program is presented by costumed historians and includes reproduction clothing pieces & fabric samples as well as a PowerPoint presentation with images of extant originals.

Please join us at Harwinton Town Hall for this FREE program. Sponsored by the Harwinton Historical Society, Harwinton Public Library, and Harwinton’s America 250 Committee.
