Description
October 27: Exploring Creative Nonfiction: Pop Culture As a Way In
Sometimes finding the “right” way to tell our personal stories can be daunting. In this generative workshop, we will explore different types of Creative Nonfiction with a particular focus on using pop culture—music and film, as well as other media or objects—as a key to unlock writing about our own lives.
Emily Costa is the author of Girl on Girl (Rejection Letters) and Until It Feels Right (Autofocus). Emily received her MFA in fiction from Southern Connecticut State University, where she now teaches first-year composition. She is the Creative Nonfiction Editor for Farewell Transmission and an Assistant Flash Editor for Split Lip Magazine. Emily also writes a semi-regular essay newsletter called LISTLESS with her sister on Substack.
Workshop is limited to 12 participants, so be sure to register now! Writers at all levels are welcome to attend.
$30 gets you 90 minutes of instruction in the Workshop Gallery at Ball & Socket Arts. If cost presents a barrier to your participation, please reach out to our team for options at info@ballandsocket.org.
