Lyric Writing with Joe Willson

on Tuesday, May 26th from 7 to 8:30 pm @ the Workshop Gallery in Building 3 at Ball & Socket Arts.


Join our Lyric Writing Workshop and embark on a creative journey to master core techniques for writing modern songs across all genres. Learn practical strategies to craft compelling lyrics, structure powerful songs, and bring your ideas to life through melody and form. Perfect for beginners and experienced writers alike. 


Workshop is limited to 12 participants, so be sure to register now! Writers at all levels are welcome to attend. 


$30 gets you 90 minutes of instruction in the Workshop Gallery at Ball & Socket Arts. If cost presents a barrier to your participation, please reach out to our team for options at info@ballandsocket.org. 

About the Instructor:

Hey there! My name is Joel Willson.

I’m a composer, songwriter, and violinist.

What I do

I play the violin

Over the years, I’ve scored for award-winning indie films, performed in some amazing venues, was a PreSonus featured performer for NAMM, and most recently performed at Jazz Fest.  

More about me… 

I was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and studied Violin at Louisiana State University. I’m an NBA fan, my favorite Beatle is George Harrison, and I listen to all types of music, but classical music has a special place in my heart–I have a tattoo of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring on my left arm.
