Teen Time
In its debut showing, The Body Imagined: Figurative Art in the Bank of America Collection offers a unique lens on how the human figure has been depicted, reimagined, and transformed across generations and artistic movements. Featuring the work of acclaimed artists including Milton Avery, Nick Cave, Alex Katz, and Cindy Sherman, The Body Imagined examines how artists from the 20th century to the present have used the human figure in a diversity of mediums to communicate vibrant, compelling, and emotive narratives. This exhibition has been loaned through the Bank of America Art in our Communities® program.
We are proud to host this exhibition, made possible through Bank of America’s Art in our Communities® program, which aims to make art more accessible to local communities and foster greater cultural exchange.
The opening celebration is set for Sunday, June 22, 2025, with $5 admission for the day.

Celebrate outstanding community leaders at the Mattatuck Museum’s 16th Annual Brass Button Award ceremony and Waterbury Clock Legacy Award on June 26. Enjoy a reception, dinner, and awards ceremony honoring John Hopkins, Mary Rosengrant-Chiappalone, and David & Melissa Martin.

Each unique pairing will be curated and narrated by a different member of the Museum’s curatorial department and offer a distinctive perspective on the Mattatuck Collection in relation to the works and story of Georgia O’Keeffe.

The students of CT State Naugatuck Valley will be bringing the magic of Broadway with them as they share songs and scenes from various beloved musicals. Under the direction of Professor Gil Harel, this summer theater troupe has performed all over the northeast, at venues in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. With a classic cabaret performance, their dynamic and well-rehearsed acts have been a hit with audiences of all listening backgrounds.
