We’re honored to welcome poet and photographer,Jo-Ann Iannotti, OP for a soul-stirring program that explores how poetry and photography can become powerful tools for self-discovery and deeper living.
Through evocative imagery, heartfelt poetry, and personal reflections, Jo-Ann will share her journey of engaging with life through art—and invite you to consider your own creative path. The program will include a special celebration and signing of her new book available for purchase,
"I Know Myself as Thief: Creativity & Self-Discovery".

Story Time
Come enhance your art skills with us! In this art lesson, youth (ages 11- 18) will grab oil pastels from the museum, and head out to the Waterbury Green for an fun outside art lesson! Students will take inspiration from Downtown Waterbury to recreate nature around them. All supplies provided.

18th Century Sewing Drop In Hours - Get ready for 2026!!
Children will explore with paint, oil pastels, clay and other medium to create their own masterpieces. They will complete and take home a different art project each week!
Requirements:

Crafty Art for Kids
This class will give students the fun of playing the guitar, and with Musical Associates’ methods, a beginner learns how to play a tune in the very first lesson! Students will have the opportunity to perform for each other and for their parents in a recital at the end of the year.
All genres of music will be included as part of the program so that students get a well-rounded artistic experience. The music club will pick up where school music programs leave off, a chance for students to get that extra attention and increased opportunity to perform.
Instruments: K-2 children will need a half sized (30”-34”), nylon-strung acoustic guitar for the program, such as this:

In-Person: A Screening & Discussion
American Look originally premiered at the 1958 American Society of Industrial Designers conference. This screening presents a meticulously remastered version, with film elements sourced from the collections of Mainspring Archive and the Library of Congress.
This 1958 promotional film highlights Chevrolet’s automobile line as a showcase of American industrial design and style. It explores modern architecture, interiors, packaging, office equipment, and industrial machinery, culminating in a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the 1959 Chevrolet Impala at General Motors’ Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. Emphasizing the abundance of consumer goods and the role of design in shaping freedom of choice, the film captures the optimism of mid-century America. Runtime: 28 minutes.
Following the screening, filmmaker and historian Jake Gorst will lead a discussion on American Look, its significance, and his motivation for undertaking the remastering process.
Jake Gorst is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and president of Mainspring Narrative Films. Over the past two decades, he has produced and directed 11 feature-length documentaries, including Frey: The Architectural Interpreter (2020), Modern Tide: Midcentury Architecture on Long Island (2012), and Desert Utopia: Midcentury Architecture in Palm Springs (2006). His films Farmboy and Leisurama have been distributed nationally on PBS. He is also the author of Andrew Geller: Deconstructed (2015, Glitterati, Inc.) and has contributed to The Architect’s Newspaper, VOX Hamptons, HOME Miami, Modern, and Modernism magazines.

Basic Italian I, a 13-session beginner class, will be held on Thursdays, May 8 to July 31, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The class will cover pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and culture.
