Description

Sewing 101: Quilted Tote Bags |

March is National Quilting Month, and it’s the perfect time to grow your sewing skills! In this beginner-friendly three part workshop, you’ll practice the basics of machine sewing as you use the quilt as you go technique to create your own tote bag. We’ll cover working with fusible fleece, sewing straight seams with an accurate seam allowance, trimming your work, creating French seams and boxed corners, and applying binding. All levels are welcome!

All supplies, including fabric and sewing machines, will be provided. If you’d like to bring your own fabric, please reach out to the Makerspace Specialist at create@gunnlibrary.org for more information.

Please note that this is a three part workshop. Participants must attend all three sessions.

Ages 18+.
